Sharpen Using The High Pass Filter
One way to sharpen an image is to use the High Pass Filter. To do so, duplicate the layer you want to sharpen by selecting it and pressing Ctrl J (Mac: Command J). Change the duplicate layer’s blend mode to Overlay, then go to Filter > Other > High Pass. Then use the Radius slider to adjust the sharpening. Make sure that the Preview check box is checked so you can see how the sharpening is affecting your image.
