Your choices stick across every tutorial on this device.
With the Hand tool selected, checking to Scroll All Windows (in the Options bar) will scroll (or pan) all open documents at the same time.
Or you can Shift-drag with the Hand tool to temporarily turn on the Scroll All Windows.
This works best when you have your open documents tiled (Window > Arrange > and select any of the Tile options).
