Your choices stick across every tutorial on this device.
When using the Crop tool in CS6, or newer, you can use overlays to help you create better photo compositions. Press the O key to cycle through the different overlays.
If you choose the Triangle or Golden Spiral overlays you can press Shift O to cycle the orientation.
