Auto Color Correction Options

To enhance your image’s lighting, you may want to try running the Auto Tone, which will brighten your image, and add a some contrast.

You can apply the Auto Tone non-destructively by creating a Levels or Curves adjustment layer, then click the “Auto” button in the properties panel.

If you would like more options, Alt-click (Mac: Option-click) the “Auto” button to bring up the “Auto Color Correction Options”, and choose from the different algorithms.

In CS6 and newer, the default will be Enhance Brightness & Contrast. In older versions of Photoshop the default is Enhance Per Channel Contrast.
