This page explains what the Photoshop Training Channel (PTC) collects when you use photoshoptrainingchannel.com, why, and what you can do about it. PTC is operated by Jesus Ramirez Media in Missouri, USA. Questions and requests go through the contact page.
What we collect, and why
The newsletter. When you sign up, we keep your email address and first name, the page you signed up from, and the date. The list is held by Kajabi, the service that sends our emails and sells our courses. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing stops the emails. We never sell or rent the list.
Courses and purchases. Courses are sold on Kajabi’s site. Kajabi handles your account, payment and purchase history under its own privacy policy. We see what you bought and the email you used, so we can support you and know which tutorials lead to purchases.
The contact form. When you write to us, we keep your name, email address and message, the time, the page you wrote from, your IP address, your browser, and the approximate location that IP address resolves to (country and city, from a lookup service, used to understand where questions come from). If you are a newsletter subscriber or a customer, we also note that beside your message so we can answer better. Messages are kept for 12 months and then deleted. Messages that our spam filter (Akismet) marks as spam are kept for 30 days and then deleted. Akismet receives the message and your IP address to make that call; see Automattic’s privacy policy.
Site analytics. We use Google Analytics, through Google’s Site Kit, to count visits and see which tutorials are read. Google sets its own cookies for this. We do not use the data to identify you.
Advertising pixels. After your first tap or scroll on a page, the site loads measurement pixels from Meta (Facebook and Instagram), Pinterest, TikTok and LinkedIn. They tell those platforms that a browser visited this site, so we can measure our course ads and reach people who showed interest. Each platform sets its own cookies and may link the visit to your account there, under its own privacy policy. You can opt out of ad personalization in each platform’s settings, or block the pixels with a browser extension or your browser’s tracking protection.
Server logs. Our host (SiteGround) keeps standard access logs: IP address, time, page requested, browser. They are used for security and troubleshooting and are not linked to you by name.
Comments. Comments on the site are closed; the conversation about each tutorial happens on YouTube under its privacy policy. Older comments left in past years still appear on some tutorials, with the name and avatar their authors gave at the time. Write to us through the contact page to have one removed.
What we do not do
We do not show ads on the site, and we do not sell, rent or trade any data about you.
Cookies and local storage
The site itself stores a few settings in your browser, not on our servers: whether you chose light or dark mode, whether you closed the newsletter popup (so it stays closed for a while), whether you are already a subscriber (so you are not asked again), and whether you collapsed the chapter list under a video. Google Analytics and the advertising pixels set their own cookies; YouTube sets cookies when you play a video. Your browser lets you clear or block all of these.
Embedded content
Tutorials embed videos from YouTube. When you play one, YouTube (Google) receives the same information as if you watched it on youtube.com. Pages may also link to Adobe, Amazon and other sites; their policies apply there.
Who else sees your data
Only the services named above, each for the job described: Kajabi (newsletter, courses), Google (analytics, YouTube), Meta, Pinterest, TikTok and LinkedIn (advertising measurement), Automattic (Akismet spam filtering), SiteGround (hosting and logs), and our email provider when we reply to you. We may disclose information when the law requires it.
Your choices and rights
You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time with the link in any email. You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, through the contact page. We answer within 30 days. Residents of California and the European Economic Area have these rights by law; we extend them to everyone.
Children
The site is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 14. If a child has written to us or signed up, tell us and we will delete it.
Security and where data lives
Data is stored in the United States, on Kajabi’s and SiteGround’s systems, over encrypted connections. No system is perfectly secure; we keep what we collect to a minimum and delete it on the schedules above.
Changes
When this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. A change that affects how we use what we already hold will be announced in the newsletter before it takes effect.
