The Remove Tool Revolution

Say goodbye to painstakingly brushing over objects for removal.
In Photoshop 2024, the all-new Remove Tool lets you loop around an object, and the magic happens.

The software intelligently connects the loop and fills the area, making it more efficient and faster.

Lens Blur

Click Filter > Camera Raw > Lens Blur panel.

This fantastic feature allows you to apply realistic optical blur and create a beautiful bokeh effect in your photos.

Click the Apply box, adjust the Blur Amount slider, and choose your preferred bokeh style. For ultimate control, use the boost slider to fine-tune the bokeh intensity.

If you want to set the focal range manually, you can do that, too. It’s never been easier to achieve that perfect depth-of-field effect.

The new Lens Blur feature has a fantastic addition – the depth map.

Click the ‘Visualize Depth’ box to reveal this synthetic depth map, which uses 3D depth estimation to create a visual representation of your image’s depth. Adjusting the focal range in this mode is a breeze, with a white overlay indicating the areas currently in focus. You can even refine the depth map with dedicated focus and blur brushes.

Parametric Filters

In this special Photoshop beta (version 25.2), you’ll uncover a treasure trove of breathtaking filters.

Click Filter > Parametric Filters, and you’ll find intriguing options like Oil Painting, Glitch, and Scratch Photo filters. Each filter boasts a plethora of customization choices, and don’t forget to experiment with the presets to find your unique style.

Enhanced Contextual Task Bar

The Contextual Task Bar in Photoshop now packs even more power.

The “Pin bar position” option retains your settings even after you restart Photoshop, saving you valuable time.

Generative Expand

Generative Expand feature is a game changer.

Click on Crop Tool and choose Generative Expand from the dropdown menu. When you change the aspect ratio of a photo, Photoshop magically fills the transparent areas with AI-generated content. The results are jaw-dropping, as you’ll see when you compare it to the old Content-Aware Fill.

Content Credentials A.I. Tag

In an age of digital information, Photoshop 2024 automatically adds Content Credentials to generated images.

This adds transparency to your work, helping prevent the spread of misinformation. You can control shared information by enabling or disabling specific details, ensuring you get credit for your creations and maintain clarity on their origins.

Go to Window > Content Credentials and click on Enable Content Credentials.

You can click Preview to check how the image and its credentials will be displayed.

To see the Content Credentials of any file, go to contentcredentials.org/verify and upload any photo.

Bonus Tip: Stay Informed About Generative AI Credits

Starting November 1, 2023, Adobe is introducing monthly credits to help manage computational resource use.

You’ll receive a monthly allocation of credits based on your subscription, ensuring priority processing. If you run out of credits, Generative AI features will still work but may run slower. Additional credits can be purchased through a subscription plan, starting at $4.99 for 100 credits.
